Allenstown, NH – May 27, 2025 – The Allenstown Fire Department, in partnership with FireMed and the Allenstown Firefighters Association, is proud to announce that the construction has begun for a state-of-the-art burn building in Allenstown. This new facility marks a major milestone for fire and EMS training in the region, providing a realistic, hands-on environment for responders to sharpen their skills and maintain professional certifications. This building will be provided with zero cost to the taxpayers of Allenstown, as the revenues from prior and future courses will help build and keep this a zero cost facility!
The burn building, located at 161 Granite Street, will serve as a cornerstone for fire and EMS training, offering live-fire scenarios and advanced drills that mirror the unpredictable conditions first responders face in the field. The facility will support both initial certification and continuing education for firefighters and EMS staff, ensuring that the Allenstown team, mutual aid partners and FireMed students are fully prepared for any emergency.
“Training in a controlled, realistic setting is essential for developing the confidence and expertise our crews need,” said Chief Eric Lambert of the Allenstown Fire Department. “This new burn building allows us to deliver the highest level of education and readiness for our staff and the communities we serve.”
Eric Trottier, CEO and Program Director of FireMed, added, “The new burn building in Allenstown is a game-changer for fire and EMS training in New Hampshire. By providing our students and local responders with a safe, realistic environment to practice and perfect their skills, we’re raising the bar for emergency services education and ultimately making our communities safer.”
The Allenstown Fire Department and FireMed, known for their commitment to in-person, scenario-based instruction, will utilize the burn building for upcoming courses, including Firefighter I, Firefighter II and advanced EMS training, further enhancing the quality of emergency services education in New Hampshire.
Community members interested in joining the fire service or learning more about training opportunities are encouraged to visit FireMed’s or the Allenstown Fire Department’s website, or attend FireMed’s open house on June 7 at 8 Merrill Industrial Drive, Hampton, NH.
